| As I run for Indiana House District 29, I am focused on addressing the most pressing issues facing Hoosiers today. My campaign is built around four main priorities: protecting personal freedoms, breaking the supermajority in the Indiana legislature, supporting public education, and introducing ballot measures and referendums to empower voters. 1. Personal Freedoms, Including Reproductive Rights I am a strong advocate for personal freedoms, particularly when it comes to reproductive rights. I believe that decisions about health care, including reproductive care, should be left to individuals, not dictated by the government. Protecting these rights is essential for ensuring that Indiana remains a place where personal liberties are respected. I am committed to defending the right to privacy and bodily autonomy for all Hoosiers. 2. Breaking the Supermajority One of the biggest challenges in Indiana�s political landscape is the Republican supermajority in the state legislature. When one party holds such dominant power, it can stifle debate and lead to legislation that does not reflect the will of the people. I see breaking the supermajority as critical for restoring balance and ensuring that all voices are heard. By introducing more accountability and bringing new perspectives into the legislature, I aim to create a more responsive and inclusive government that truly represents the diverse needs of Indiana's communities. 3. Supporting Public Education As a hardline supporter of public education, I understand that investing in our schools is crucial for the future of Indiana. I advocate for increased funding for public education, particularly for universal pre-kindergarten (pre-K), which research shows boosts long-term student outcomes and strengthens local economies. With Noblesville�s test scores already well above the state average, I know that continued investment in education will benefit both students and the broader community. I also strongly supports the collective bargaining rights of teachers, recognizing that educators deserve fair wages and working conditions that allow them to provide the best possible education to their students. 4. Ballot Measures and Referendums Finally, I am a proponent of adding ballot measures and referendums in Indiana. I believe that voters should have more direct control over important legislative decisions. Ballot initiatives give Hoosiers a direct voice in shaping the policies that affect their daily lives, whether it�s about health care, education, or other key issues. By introducing referendums, I want to empower the people of Indiana to have a greater say in their government, ensuring that democracy works for everyone, not just a few in power. These priorities reflect my commitment to creating a more equitable, transparent, and inclusive Indiana. Through strong advocacy and thoughtful legislation, I aim to make Indiana a better place for all its residents. |
